No, Delta and Moen are completely different. Delta and Peerless are interchangeable for what it is worth.

Why does my shower head leak when the bath faucet is running?

When the faucet in the tub is on, up above the shower head leaks a little bit, its more of running water than a drip, what do i need to do to fix it? thanks!! Also, where the head screws into the shower head faucet it leaks out of the threads as well, however it doesnt spray very far, would a new o-ring fix both problems?

Mine does too, I was told to put some of that white tape around the threads and it will stop. You gotta buy some white tape especially made for the threads.

Plumbing..Can I change the Tub Fixtures myself?

The fixtures need to be updated and besides they are leaking. I guess to be more specific….shower stuff. Is this something I need to call the Plumber for? I have the new fixtures.

It can be very easy, or very expensive. How old r the fixtures> If they r real old, the threads could be rusted. When u try to take them off, they might brk! Otherwise, remove them slowly. Make sure you have the right size replacement first. Put Teflon tape r plumbers dope on the threads. Then carefully (so you dont strip the threads) put the fixture back on. I got mine online via a website that provided info and reviews and then had access to some great suppliers.

Ther are loads of different styles out there. I personally like the vessel sink vanities the best. You can get them in 48 inch models

In tornado weather, what exactly do they mean when they say not to use any plumbing facilities in your home?

If its lightning and storming outside, the weathermen always say not to use any plumbing fixtures, what do they mean exactly? I can assume they mean not to take a bath, but is anything else dangerous and why? What would happen?

It is the lightning that needs to be cautious of. Any lighting hitting near or the house itself can cause a surge through water pipes due to water being a good conductor of electricity. So, if you are in the tub or shower, washing dishes, with part of your body in contact with either the metal fixture or the water, you can get severely jolted.

It is wise to just avoid water and the water fixtures why lightning is nearby.

I am going crazy trying to find a decent, reasonably priced 42" wide bathroom vanity… Any suggestions?

I’ve been looking to remodel my bathroom soon and the current vanity measures 41 1/2". The current one is garbage so any ideas of repainting or reusing anything is out. I have a 42" space that I need to fill. Please give me some ideas or links. Also I can’t be spending $1000 bucks on just the vanity. Thanks

Delta kitchen faucet drips?

I am aware these area washles but mine does drip Do I have to buy an entirely new faucet or is there someway I can fix it. It is fine under the sink and every where else, I really don’t need a new one…I just want this to stop dripping.

this all depends on whether it is two handle or single handle…..listen up cuz this is the proper way!! lol

Single handle….take the handle off…if its an acrylic (plastic looking) then its a phillips head screw….there’s a metal ring that is holding a stainless steel ball in the faucet body. That ring turns counter clockwise to come off. When it comes off pull on the ball and a couple pieces will come out. Look inside the faucet and there are two seats (rubber cups) and two springs. Pull those out. Go to a hardware store and get a Delta RP 3614 kit. Also get a new stainless steel ball but take the old one with you because there are two different types. Insert all the pieces as they came out and replace the metal ring.

Two handle….take off the handles…there’s a stem held in by a nut. Unscrew that nut and pull the stem. Study the stem to see which way it is facing. Look at it for a minute and you’ll see what I mean. The same rubber "cups" and springs are inside the body. Pull those out. Go to the hardware store and make sure you get Delta brand stems and seats and springs. Put the seats and springs back in the faucet and the stems exactly the way they came out. Screw the retaining nut back on and install handles. If for some reason your handles turn the wrong way after youre finished then remove the stems again and turn them around. Once you get into this you will understand. Good luck

I have little black specks in my shower and faucet water?

I live in an upstairs apartment and on occasion I see little black specs in both my shower and faucet. The leave a black stain. What could they be?

ok she said its in the water. so i doubt its mold spores. i think its a rubber washer going bad.

How do I vent an old home (new to me)? 80 yr old house but drainage plumbing improperly installed 10 yrs ago?

The laundry drain gurgles when i drain the bathtub and the bathroom sink gets an odor of sewer gas. Also when i drain the kitchen sink, which is a double basin model, the waste water rises up into the other basin about 1/2 inch above drain before draining out. I don’t see any vent pipes inside or any vents on roof. No Studor type vents either. All plumbing fixtures are on main floor within 15′ radius. My property is rural and sewer system is an underground holding tank with above ground pump-out/ejector system. I’m not worried about "code" at this point as I am looking for answers/suggestions. I will deal with "code" in our area before I begin the work. Your help is appreciated… Thank you.

It appear you have isolated the problem areas, now you just need to vent them to the atmosphere.

Gurgling and sewer gasses go hand in hand with a venting issue.
A system not properly vented creates a vacuum when water goes down the drain — the vacuum empties the water used (in the J pipe) to block out gasses.

Each sink, etc, must be vented — the venting can be shared if they fall within the "critical distance" to the vent pipe.
The "run" determines the critical distance.

Ideas to refinish a bathroom vanity?

I have a bathroom vanity that I want to update without painting. It is an inexpensive pine stained dark cherry. I cant replace it because all the tile work is very nice and expensive. I have no clue why the former owners didnt replace this vanity at the time that they updated the rest of the room. If you have any ideas that dont include painting or restaining ..thanks

By the time you invest money into all the extras you may be better off just going in to your local hardware store and buying a new vanity. They can be installed quite easily. Go into yahoo or google image search and key in the word bathroom vanity, you will get thousands of pictures and you’re bound to find one you like!
