How do I install a kitchen faucet on a thick countertop?

I just had a 1 1/4" granite countertop installed in my kitchen. When I went to install the faucet I realized that the shafts for the faucet were too short and I could not both cramp the faucet to the countertop and attach the water supply. I bought some plastic extenders from Home Depot but those kept leaking. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Why would you spend the money for a granite counter top, and use the old faucet?
Go back to homodepo, and buy the right faucet, you’ll be glad you did, cause once you start mickey mousin stuff like that,it never ends.

  1. Put some plumbers tape around your extender joints. Tighten well but don’t over tighten.

  2. ALL FAUCETS BOTH KITCHEN AND BATHROOM HAVE 1/2" PIPE THREAD.. . . SOME MANUFACTURES ( MOEN DELTA , ETC…. OFFER EXTENSION KITS FOR THICK COUNTERS ) I NEVER BUY FROM A BOX STORE, TAKE YOUR FAUCET AND PARTS BACK AND BUY FROM LOCAL PLUMBING SUPPLY HOUSE, BETTER QUALITY, BETTER PRICE AND THEY R MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE, THOSE PLASTIC EXTENDERS ARE JUNK . . PERIOD.
