How do you remove white stains from black bathroom fixtures?

My bathroom has a black toilet and black sink. Even after I clean with a normal cleaner, white stains remain. I would like to get the shiny appearance of a brand new Kohler. Help!

Try a denture tablet(like Polident) – drop one into the toilet bowl and let it fizz away.
Or
You have a mineral build up from your water – you may need a pumice stone to scrub with.
